With the financial year 2018-19 coming to an end, most of the two-wheeler manufacturers reported a slump in sales of the most popular two-wheelers in India. Surprisingly, only three models recorded positive growth in the month of March 2019.
The Hero Splendor remains to be the bike to beat in the top 10 selling bikes list despite a sight negative growth. The biggest surprise of the list is the Bajaj Pulsar which makes it to the fourth position with massive growth in sales as compared to the previous year.
Top 10 selling two-wheelers in March 2019
10. TVS Apache
The TVS Apache series entered the top 10 list with a sales figure of 42,965 units in March 2019. The TVS Apache series comprises of the Apache RR310, Apache RTR 200 4V, Apache RTR 160 4V, Apache RTR 180 and Apache RTR 160. Despite recording negative growth in sales as compared to March 2018, the Apache series still managed to occupy the tenth position.
9. Suzuki Access
Suzuki sold 49,875 units of the Access scooter in the month of March 2019. The Suzuki Access recorded a growth of 36 percent as compared to March 2018. The Suzuki Access is available in two variants and the premium styling and features of the scooter plays a vital role in the sales. With a powerful 125cc engine, the Suzuki Access also delivers a peppy performance and also returns a decent mileage.
8. TVS Jupiter
The TVS Jupiter is one of the popular 110cc scooters in the Indian market. TVS managed to sell 53,424 units of the scooter in March 2019. The TVS Jupiter recorded negative growth of 18 percent as compared to the sales figures of March 2018. TVS offers five variants of the Jupiter in India and the scooter comes all the essential features such as disc brake, spacious seat and elegant styling.
7. Hero Glamour
The Hero Glamour is a premium 125cc commuter bike from the stable of Indian two-wheeler maker. In March 2019. Hero MotoCorp sold 56,658 units of the Glamour. The Hero Glamour too recorded a slump of -21 percent as compared to March 2018. The Hero Glamour is available in three variants and the motorcycle features a stylish design for a commuter bike. The bike is also equipped with a host of features such as i3S technology and much more.
6. Hero Passion
The Hero Passion is a premium offering in the 110ccc segment. The Hero Passion recorded a sales figure of 58,544 units in the month of March 2019. The Hero Passion recorded a massive negative growth of 44 percent when compared to the sales in March 2018. The Hero Passion is available in three variants and bike comes equipped with premium features such as disc brake, i3S technology, alloy wheels and much more.
5. Bajaj Platina
The Bajaj Platina is an entry-level commuter motorcycle offered in two variants: Platina 100 and Platina 110. Bajaj Auto sold 62,519 units of the Platina in March 2019 and recorded a positive growth of 80 percent when compared to the sales of March 2018. The Bajaj Platina is an affordable commuter bike with all the essential features required for a smooth ride.
4. Bajaj Pulsar
The Bajaj Pulsar range occupies the fourth spot in the list by beating some of the best-selling bikes in the country. The total sales of the Bajaj Pulsar series stood at 83,228 units in March 2019. The Pulsar brand recorded a massive positive growth of 154 percent. Bajaj Auto has been spot on with its strategy in March 2019 and managed to beat its competitors.
3. Hero HF Deluxe
The Hero HF Deluxe is a stylish 100cc commuter bike with decent performance and essential features. Hero MotoCorp sold 1,46,162 units of the HF Deluxe in March 2019. The Hero HF Deluxe too recorded a slump in sales by -20 percent as compared to March 2018. With its affordable price tag and a decent amount of features, the HF Deluxe has managed to occupy the third spot in the list.
2. Honda Activa
The Honda Activa is the best-selling scooter in the Indian market and the sales figure of March 2019 once again proves it. Honda sold 1,48,241 units of the Activa in March 2019. But like most of the two-wheelers, the Activa also recorded negative growth of 29 percent when compared to the sales of March 2018. The Honda Activa is offered in three variants: Activa 5G, Activa I and Activa 125.

The Hero Splendor retains its top spot despite a slight slump in the sales. Hero MotoCorp sold 2,46,656 units of the Splendor in March 2019 as compared to 2,62,232 units in March 2018. The Hero Splendor also comes with modern features such as alloy wheels, i3S technology and many more premium features.
